This is a waterway that the Romans built almost 2000 years ago. It makes me think; what of our society will still be standing in 2000 years? Look around you...what will last and what will be gone?
i feel in 2,000 yrs. buildings built now and in the past wont be kept the same because even though people love history, people like new things even more...
thinking about our country and all the tings we have built and the hoover dam may still be here in 2000 years but there will probably be no water. even though we didn't build it the grand canyon should still be there. but things like the Lincoln memorial may not be around that long.
i think that in 2000 years, almost everything will be different. i know that technology is taking over and most likely we wont have the computers that are in front of us because they will have something better by then.

This is amazing. Things like this just make me wonder how far we have come and that most of the time we don't appreciate our history. I don't know how something can survive for 2000 years. I have no idea if anything that i see or live by now will still be standing in 2000 years, but if anything is i hope someone appreciates the hard work and labor put into it and that they see what great minds there were before their time as well as the ones in their present.
I have a feeling that nothing will stay the same in the United States except for historic landmarks and even then I am a bit of a skeptic. A majority of American's are somewhat obsessed with the new, the shiny and modern. And I feel that as our society's principals change so will our external environment.
in 2,000 years the earth would still have its prized wonders of the world kept in tact but a lot of the modern buildings we see today would be replaced with future era buildings.
The Hoover Dam references are good. I also like the idea that this photo looks like a painting. When I look at it again you are right, it has a sort of brushed quality.
When I look at certain structures in America I can't help but to associate them with a value system. Although the World Trade Center Buildings are gone I understand how they impacted America and they will always be remembered.
My grandmas house will be gone for sure but i think most of the important monuments will still be standing and well kept. Whats 2000 more years anyway right?
2000 years from now i think monumental structures like the statue of liberty will be around because it has a significant meaning about it, but our community will change and the structure will change.
things that have some kind of meaning to society or to the nation will be kept up. there may be some buildings/monuments in society that maybe forgotten because of technology and will just turn into ruins. they could be falling apart, decaying, and also be affected by erosion. i believe that many things 2000 years from now will be in ruins.
knowing how the human society is, they build things to end up bring them down in thee end... i feel that trees, forest, and rain forest will be gone unless we find a new solution or method to stop killing the earth with cutting down trees...

ReplyDeleteThis looks like it could be a real photo but it's a very clean painting.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of a Roman "Hoover Dam".

ReplyDelete2,000 years from now we would have different people.
ReplyDeleteMany monuments will be standing such as this one... but many things will be changed because people like the newest things.
ReplyDeleteI think that schools will last for a long time to come. Also amusements parks such as Magic Mountain, or Disneyland.

ReplyDeleteI think that this era buildings are a nice structure that were made by the people. In 200 years for now there will be different kind of buildings.

ReplyDeletei agree. as time goes on and technology improves so does the structures around us.
ReplyDeletethe only thing that i think that will still be up in 2000 years is statue of liberty and the Eifle tower.
