This is a great example of hideously beautiful art. For some reason it kind of makes me laugh. The lion reminds me of The Wizard of Oz. I guess the the cowardly lion got the courage...to kill..
It could be a werewolf or big foot. The beast looks frightened or startled by who ever took the photo as if he knows that he is not supposed to be eating people, but the way he hold his food makes it seem like people are his favourite.
this piece of art may represent some sort of literature that could possibly be mythological. looks like an oversized old man eating a small woman. This is good art and interesting but also hideous.
I think it's hideous; although, it does elicit a natural revolting human response probably because we are all so aware of our own frailty to the monsters of this world. This piece of art is not something I would want on my wall. I think it should be called "To Covet."
This piece is truly a beautiful piece of art, although it isn't quite my style. Regardless, I do feel that it is artwork. The shading that depicts the "monster's" muscles and the expression the creature's eyes give the entire portrait a true sense of horror is really amazing. The fact that the monster is in the process of eating a woman's arm, not so hot.
In my opinion I say that this is a good art. The reason is because it makes me open my imagination to think what the author was thinking when he was drawing this painting.
Zach found it. It is Saturn Devouring His Childen. I like the titles you all came up with better though. Goya was interested in these scary themes, maybe because his country was taken over and dominated harshly by Napoleon.
This work of art is undescribably beautiful in an abstract way. the title to this makes sense to its design. i can see the artist trying to show how easily it is for someone to lose their humanity and take anothers freedom away. however i do not agree with those saying that this looks like a woman being devoured. i think it can be male or female, just because there's no head and all you see is the rear. if anything id say it was male because it looks as though it has muscles
i would guess the title is "hunger brings power to the small".. lol... but besides that the picture is somewhat horrific but a decent piece of art... its very unique...
Although this is good art, in my opinion it is hideous. My first thought is that this picture is depicting cannibalism.
ReplyDeleteamazingly drawn but hideous thoughts. title could be food for thought.

ReplyDeleteBeowolf, good thought, Malachi. This does look a bit like Grendel.
ReplyDeletei think it is hideous. i don't really like all the blood and the message it sends. i don't really consider that being art.

ReplyDeletethis is good art but the message it is implying is a bit degrading towards women.
